Ratzcool is the drama division of WISPA – Wisbech School of Performing Arts. WISPA is a unique offering where all of our students enjoy the opportunity to train and perform in a working theatre. In addition, our teaching practitioners include industry professionals and working actors.
We offer an exceptional environment for 5 to 18-year-olds where students immerse themselves in high-calibre training, whilst developing their talent and their passion for performance.
Our Musical Theatre and Acting classes follow a unique and inspiring programme. We offer a range of qualifications,

A fund to make the Ratzcool offer affordable and accessible to all was created in memorial to Emlyn Moment, you can apply for a bursary for Ratzcool to cover up to 40% of the term fees. See the qualifying criteria and application process here.
MONDAYS 17:30 - 19:00
The Ratz Young Company (aged 13+) is a unique opportunity where members are treated as acting professionals. The company will have opportunities to collaborate, devise and work on productions that they select - placing their own creative stamp on the theatre.
TUESDAYS 17:30 - 19:00
Take a more in-depth look at Stage Acting and techniques. This course provides the opportunity to work towards a drama qualification (optional) as well as perform in our theatre across the year. An exciting range of works, old and contemporary, will be explored in a fun, engaging and relaxed setting.
WEDNESDAYS 16:30 - 17:15
Using poetry, plays and stories we create exciting, fun exercises to develop your acting talent!

WEDNESDAYS 17:30 - 18:30
Building characters, creating exciting and original stories, and working as part of a team, you will have many opportunities to share your talents and perform in a busy and exciting working theatre!
THURSDAYS 17:00 - 18:00
Our students are always learning and using their creativity to tell wonderful, original stories. This class covers media, film and acting for screen. Students use specialist equipment in a fun and practical environment.
THURSDAYS 18:00 - 19:00
This class goes beyond performance, covering all aspects of the film industry - both in front and behind the camera. Students explore production/set design to cinematography along with directing and acting for screen.
SATURDAYS 13:00 - 15:15
Ever wanted to Act, Sing and Dance? This fun and exciting class will develop confidence and performance skills! Each group will learn a variety of show pieces, old and new, ready to perform on our theatre’s stage.
SATURDAYS 13:00 - 15:15
Act, Sing AND Dance. Those attending Musical Theatre will find these classes a real bonus enabling students to gain the skills to be brave and perform in our working theatre. It’s 3 times the fun!
SATURDAYS 15:30 - 16:30
This class consists of singing movement and acting inspired by a wide range of musical genres from classic to modern. Students will learn breathing & singing techniques, characterisation, movement & more.
Emlyn Moment made a massive impact to the life and culture of the Angles Theatre. His ethos and commitment to its youth members – particularly Ratzcool, and the greater communities it served, are sadly missed. The Moment family felt it fitting to honour his contributions through a memorial bursary fund, and dedicated monies to establish such a fund.
You can apply for a bursary from Ratzcool to cover up to 40% of the term fees, for both Saturday and Wednesday classes. It is a means-tested bursary, so you will need to meet the criteria.
